Shang Ding Marble (SD Stone): A Legacy of Excellence in Stonework

Founded by Ted Wang during Taiwan’s industrial revolution in the 1980s—a time when Taiwan was a global manufacturing hub—Shang Ding Marble has grown from humble beginnings into a renowned name in the stone industry. The company’s journey began with the establishment of its first factory in Taoyuan City in 1991. At that time, the use of stone in Taiwan was primarily limited to locally quarried granites.

Our Journey

Starting with a manual stone saw and hand tools, Shang Ding Marble quickly earned a reputation for excellence, collaborating with builders and interior designers to deliver exceptional craftsmanship.

Pioneering Innovation

In the early 2000s, Shang Ding Marble became a trailblazer in the industry by being the first in Taiwan to invest in FLOW waterjet technology, enabling the creation of intricate and precise stone designs.

Ted Wang’s passion for natural stone as a form of art transformed the company’s ethos. This passion inspired his daughters, who, after completing their studies abroad in Australia and gaining professional experience at firms like Ernst & Young, ANZ, and Western Union, returned to Taiwan to continue their father’s legacy.

Today, Shang Ding Marble is the only stonemason factory in Taiwan capable of working with a diverse range of materials, including marble, granite, engineered stone, and porcelain. Located in Zhongli, Taoyuan, the factory and showroom span nearly 4,000 square meters.
